In prayer and meditation over a period of years with dedication to the Divine Mercy, the concept of Moments of Mercy came to me. My goal for Moments of Mercy is to develop a Ministry of Mercy that will inspire others to learn about the Divine Mercy of Jesus, as presented in the Diary of Saint Faustina and practice deeds of mercy to others.

Moments of Mercy presentations and subject material is taken from the Diary of Saint Faustina, The Catechism, teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, Holy Scripture, John Paul II and other related material.

I am separating the concept Moments of Mercy into several Categories for definition and clarity:

  1. The Moments of Mercy Institute, which will present Divine Mercy…Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Holy Hours, Retreats and Days of Recollection.
  2. Moments of Mercy Mentors, which I invite you to become one…will present opportunities for people to become involved with Michigan Catholic Radio through Moments of Mercy happenings. We will gather together in work, devotion and prayer supporting Moments of Mercy…the Divine Mercy. With the Divine Mercy…Jesus, as our Mentor, we will work to become Mentors of Mercy to others. We will use the gifts God has given us in utilizing our hands and talents to promote the Divine Mercy.
  3. Moments of Mercy Meditation will offer opportunities for meditation and prayer through the Divine Mercy including…The Chaplet, The Image, and The Devotion, The Hour of Grace, The Novena, Divine Mercy Sunday and ideas for practicing deeds of mercy to others.
  4. The Moments of Mercy Radio Program, the on-air the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 PM and assorted Vignettes provides the Michigan Catholic Radio listeners an opportunity to pray and to learn more about the Divine Mercy and our Catholic Faith.
  5. The Moments of Mercy Outreach Program we will provide Parishes, local Prayer Groups, Nursing Homes and even Catholic Schools an opportunity to bring Moments of Mercy…the Divine Mercy Programs right into their environment and targeted to their specific spiritual needs.  Rev: 08/03/06 jm

Moments of Mercy Vignette #6: ABC’s of Mercy
With Jim Miller

The ABC’s of Mercy leads us into Novena to the Divine Mercy
Ask for His Mercy. God wants you to approach Him in prayer constantly asking Him to pour His Mercy out upon the whole world.
Be merciful. God wants us to receive His Mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.
Complete trust…God wants us to know that the graces of His Mercy depend upon our trust. The more we Trust In Him, the more we will receive. Have expectant faith, Trust in God.

Jesus said, “…in recognition of The Divine Mercy, so that every soul will praise My goodness…

I desire Trust from My creatures. Encourage souls to place great trust in My fathomless mercy.
Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach Me, for even if had more sins than there are grains of sand in the world, all would be drowned in the unmeasurable depths of My mercy. D 1059

Saint Faustina tells us “The Novena which Jesus instructed me to write down and make before the Feast of Divine Mercy is to begin on Good Friday.
Jesus said: “I desire that on these nine days you bring souls to the font of My Mercy.
We should do the Novena of Divine Mercy often in order to use this method of prayer designed by Jesus to bring special attention and to help those that Jesus identifies when He instructs us to pray for the poor souls in Purgatory.
Look within yourself to bring Moments of Mercy to others, and also to the poor souls in Purgatory.
In praying the Novena Jesus says, “Today bring to Me…
Day 1:        All mankind, especially sinners,
Day 2         The souls of priests and religious,
Day 3         All devout and faithful souls,
Day 4         Those who do not believe in God, and those who do not yet know me,
Day 5         The souls who have separated themselves from My Church,
Day 6         The meek and humble souls and the souls of children,
Day 7         The souls who especially venerate and glorify My Mercy,
Day 8         The souls who are detained in Purgatory,
Day 9         Today bring Me the souls who have become lukewarm.”
